Dodd Middle School Physical Education
Expectations
General Guidelines
Physical education is a year-long course that meets every other day
All students are expected to adhere to the SPARK expectations
Students are expected to leave their belongings on the racks and line up promptly for attendance
Cell phones are not allowed and should be left in school lockers
Students are required to wear sneakers to ensure safe participation in activities
Locker rooms will be available for students who wish to change
Students must bring all items, including sneakers, to and from class, as locks will not be issued
Each unit will be graded on the following:
Participation-45%
Sportsmanship-45%
Preparation-10%
1st class unprepared-3 points
2nd class unprepared-3 points
3rd class unprepared-4 points
Excused absences must be documented by the nurse, a doctor, or a parent/guardian in writing or by email.
Extended absences require a doctor’s note submitted to the nurse. In these cases, a written assignment or alternative class responsibility will be given.

Fitness Testing
Ultimate Frisbee
Pickleball
Handball
Tennis
Bowling
Floor Hockey
Basketball
Low Organization Games
Badminton
