K-2 Curriculum


Students in Grades K-2 will engage in fundamentally appropriate motor skills designed to promote immediate and lifelong benefits. Activities are designed to help students develop the knowledge, attitudes, motor skills, behavioral skills, and confidence needed to adopt and maintain physically active lifestyles (National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, 1997, p. 205).


Activities may include, but are not limited to the following:

Traveling

Fleeing, Chasing & Dodging

Spacial Awareness

Jumping & Landing

Balancing

Kicking & Punting

Throwing & Catching

Volleying & Striking

Striking with Implements
