Session Description: Kami is an online document annotation and markup tool. You can highlight, underline, and strike-through text in PDF and other document formats. You can also add text boxes, shapes, and images. Kami works with Google Drive and Google Classroom. With Kami, you can easily collaborate on documents in the classroom while avoiding the hassles of printing documents. This session will include an overview of the Kami PDF editor including how teachers can use Kami in their classrooms and lessons.

Session Description: In this session, CPS parents will be introduced to and guided through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The presenter will not only share guidance on accessing the portal and connecting your account with each of your children but also how to complete a password reset as well as adjusting preferences for notifications. You will also have the opportunity to learn about all of the different pages available in the portal and the information that they provide. An overview of accessing your child's progress report/report card as well as updating demographic data will also be shared.

Session Description: In this session, CPS parents will be provided with an overview and brief history of CT Public Act No. 16-189 - An Act Concerning Student Data Privacy, which originally went into effect on October 1, 2016, and has been amended several times since. Participants will learn about the various terminology used within the student data privacy law and the requirements of both vendors and school districts. In addition, CPS will identify and demonstrate the measures it has taken to protect student data and document applications being utilized within the district.
