Hello! My name is Jen Sevy, and I am the STEM teacher at Fox Hollow Elementary. The 2023-2024 school year is my 20 th year of teaching. Prior to teaching STEM, I taught third grade for eight years, then eight years of Technology/STEM as part of the specials offered at Fox Hollow. I am a product of the Cherry Creek School District having attended Walnut Hills Elementary, Campus Middle School, and Cherry Creek High School. I earned my undergraduate degree from Metro State University and my Master's in Technology Integration from Boise State University.
Fox Hollow became home to me 14 years ago, when I realized what a great place it is. The atmosphere here is the best around; teachers and students are all happy to be working together to shape our future leaders. In fact, I love Fox Hollow so much my own children both attended all the way through fifth grade.
My husband and I have two children. My daughter is starting her college adventure this year as a Freshman at Cal Poly SLO, and my son is a sophomore at Grandview. We have one sweet rescue pup we love to pieces named Ruby. As a family, we enjoy camping, hiking, roasting marshmallows, attending my daughter's choir performances, and cheering on my son at his basketball games (Go Wolves!).
I believe with all my heart that we all should focus on why we do what we do. I am proud to say that my "why" for teaching is to instill a love of learning, kindness, compassion, and curiosity in as many children as I can. In the relatively small amount of time I share with my students, I aim to make a big connection so they have yet another person on their team at school and in life! I look forward to a great school year!
