Alison Lutz noticed that her students struggled with vocabulary when completing an assignment titled “Objectively Describing a Work of Art” which required them to think and describe what they were seeing in more specific and empirical terms.
In order to help them better understand the assignment and bolster their skills, she provided Multiple Means of Representation so that they had options for seeing, hearing and reading the material. She also allowed them to choose different options to present what they had learned, further aiding their ability to succeed and grow in her class.
Read more about the project, what strategies she implemented, and what she learned in her artifact.
