What do I choose if I want to practice German in the summer, or keep it fresh, or just generally improve?

First of all, to save yourself frustration, ONLY do something that you find (at least *some*) pleasure in doing, that give you some feelings of success. (If your brain isn't enjoying itself, it'll auto-delete most of what you were trying to convince it to learn during your sleep!)
What works for some people, will not work for all. Example: After 30 days or so straight, I find that Duolingo bores me and/or I run into frustrations of one kind or another. On the one hand, I should probably learn to persevere more. On the other hand, maybe it doesn't suit me too well.
Give several things a try!

**Current German 1 students (going into German 2 next year) -- I have lots of seats still available in a Free Reading Library online from https://fluencymatters.com/

Story Planet Deutsch: Do some more advanced reading (where you will have to look up some words) in digestible, shorter chunks. This is a lightweight app with a useful free option, but als a 1.99 a month useful perk option.
