School social workers assist in linking school, home, and community to help students achieve well-being and academic success. School Social Workers strive to remove social, emotional, and academic barriers to school success and support students, families and teachers / staff.

FOOD RESOURCES
Free and Reduced Lunch information: To apply for free or reduced lunch, please complete an application for your family at online application or visit the CHCCS Nutrition website.
Food for Students: this website lists all of the locations where FREE lunches will be delivered every day Monday - Friday for any children ages 0-18 during this time of COVID. Your family may visit any of these locations to pick up food daily.
Additional Food Resources during COVID: Scroll down to the "Food Assistance" section and you will see a list of many other locations where your family can pick up food weekly in the community to support your food needs during this time of COVID.
TABLE: Provides weekly bags of food for students and families. During COVID, they are delivering the food bags to the family's front door.
PORCH: Supports families with fresh food each month. If your family would benefit from this additional food assistance, please contact your school social worker for a referral.
Interfaith Food Council: provides food for families from their food pantry as well as daily hot meals.
RENT & UTILITY ASSISTANCE
Orange County Housing Helpline: offering assistance with rent and utilities. Helps families with a housing crisis.

St. Thomas More Church: Provides rent and utility assistance. During COVID, call by phone at 919-213-9031 and leave a message, a volunteer will return your call.
Interfaith Council (IFC): Provides financial assistance with rent and utilities. Call 919-929-6380.
