Honors Bands

Students have the opportunity to audition for 2 different honors groups.  Both of these ensembles are extracurricular and require an audition.

Honor bands are a great opportunity for students seeking an extra challenge outside of the regular school day.  Participation in honors' ensembles looks great on future applications, not to mention they are a ton of fun!

Students who are selected to be in these honors ensembles get to spend two days performing challenging music outside of what we learn in class, with other honors students from around our county/district, directed by a hand-selected clinician!  A concert is performed at the end of the 2 days.

Audition Requirements

Auditions include a list of scales and a short solo. 
All-District has 1 additional scale, and also has a short sight reading portion of the audition.

Students who are interested in these groups should reach out to Ms. Parsons for help getting registered.

All-County/OneChatham Band

Audition Date: October 29, after school
Location: Jordan-Matthews High School
Clinic Date(s): November 12 (after school) & 13 (all day)
Clinic Location: Seaforth High School
Registration: FREE

All-District Band

Registration Deadline: Wednesday December 10, 2025
Audition Date: Saturday January 10, 2026
Location: Hawfields Middle School
