Unique performance and travel opportunities:
Perform at the Pittsboro Tree Lighting Festival
Perform recruitment concerts for current 4th & 5th graders
Travel around the state and occasionally perform for ratings
Travel to Carowinds in 8th grade
Proven academic enhancement:
Students with high involvement in instrumental music show significantly higher levels of math proficiency by grade 12.
Students with experience in music performance scored higher on the SAT: They scored 57 points higher on the verbal and 41 points higher on the math.
Students with band and orchestra experience attend college at a rate twice the national average.
