Specialist/Encore Teachers
The Academic Services and Student Support Division (ASIS) has led efforts to provide quality educational resources for teachers and students. We know that our specials and encore teachers may wish to also help support students. K-8 teachers please work with your principal for guidance on this as well as grade level teachers. K-8 may help provide additional supports for students to do at home and may support helping develop materials for students to use at home. Each school will best determine how staff will be utilized. 9-12 teachers may be a little different since you work with specific courses. Please communicate with your students in the Learning Management System that you use for your course.

Resources for Specialist/Encore Teachers
The following materials have been developed to support specialty area teachers. If you have suggestions for things for us to add, feel free to let us know.
Since the 2015-2016 school year, Chatham Arts Council’s Chatham Artists-in-Schools Initiative has brought professional artists into schools to support math, science, language, and history curricula. Through interactive, engaging workshops taught by theatre actors, performance artists, dancers, mural painters, African drummers, and strings musicians, students have unique opportunities for a deeper engagement with learning objectives.
