Hot Spots

Chatham County Schools is using hotspot devices to provide options to help students needing more reliable home internet access. While hotspots are not complete solutions because they fully depend on cellphone coverage, they may be good fits for many of the district’s students. At this time, families may request one hotspot per household. Those devices will require Verizon coverage. Based on requests, need, and the number of hotspots available, the district will work to prioritize and distribute hotspots to families in the coming weeks.

Families may request Verizon hotspots via the Request Form. English Spanish

Hot spots will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

School WiFi Options

Chatham County Schools will offer free guest WiFi access to students and staff who do not have Internet access from home at a number of our school locations. This WiFi is only available in areas designated by the green on the school maps below. Signs will be placed on campuses to direct visitors to the appropriate location. If you do not see your school listed in the pdf library below, it is because the campus did not have both a parking area and a Wireless Access Point close enough to provide this service.

Please keep in mind that our Internet services are both logged and are filtered in accordance with Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requirements. This is the same level of filtering provided on all Chatham County Schools devices issued for at-home use as part of the 1-to-1 Student Device Program and as a part of the temporary loaner program.
