Treat your Body Well

  • Eat a healthy snack

  • Go for a walk outside

  • Eat some protein

  • Drink a glass of water

  • Drink a cup of herbal tea

  • Do as many jumping jacks or push-ups as you can

  • Kick a soccer ball

  • Practice basketball

  • Do vigorous exercise

  • Take a nap

Get Some Perspective

  • Look out the window

  • Consider your situation from a bird’s-eye view, a more impersonal angle

  • Consider how someone (real or imagined) who deeply loves you would look at it

  • Is this situation going to matter in five years? If not, don't spend more than five minutes worrying about it

  • Imagine your favorite place

  • Lay on the floor on your back

Entertain/Distract Yourself

  • Listen to your favorite song

  • Watch TV

  • See a movie

  • Watch your favorite YouTube videos

  • Read a book

Connect with Others

  • Call a friend

  • Spend time with your pet

  • Ask a family member how their day is
