Academics, Curriculum, and All the Things

High School 101

Expectations for graduation:

  • Meet all academic criteria

  • Prove that you are college and/or career ready

High School Graduation Criteria

The above credits must be completed in order for a student to earn a high school diploma in South Carolina. Please note that 24 credits is a MINIMUM. St. John's students have the opportunity to earn up to 36 credits by the end of the senior year. Additional courses will be required to attend 4-year colleges. Families should check with their desired institutions early in high school to make sure that all necessary courses are completed.

College and/or Career Readiness

ALL students are expected to leave St. John's future ready. This means that every student should graduate with a plan to do something after high school, no matter what that is. To determine college or career readiness, we use the 8 indicators listed above. Individual questions should be forwarded to the student's school counselor.
