Supporting Multilingual Learners: 50 Strategies for Language and Literacy Instruction by Lindsey Moses is an easy-to-read text on 10 research-based strategies that help develop multilingual learners' literacy skills. Each chapter focuses on one scaffold and 5 instructional "Strategies in Action" that fit within that scaffold, providing classroom examples of the strategies in use. 

The book study assignments will be housed in Canvas. All participants to successfully complete this book study will receive 30 renewal credit hours towards recertification as well as a souvenir micro-credential badge.  Level 1 and Level 2 micro-credential badges are available to pursue after completion of the book study in order to apply one's learning from the book study as well as to engage others with the content. 

Talk Read Talk Write by Nancy Motley is a practical, classroom-focused book that outlines an instructional framework designed to support students' academic language development. The method emphasizes structured conversations, purposeful reading, and reflective writing to deepen understanding of complex content. Aimed at educators, the book provides strategies to actively engage all learners—especially multilingual learners —by integrating listening, speaking, reading, and writing in meaningful ways. It’s a hands-on guide for creating a more interactive and inclusive classroom.

This book includes 45 strategies that are designed to help teachers assist students to draw out the gifts and tools they already possess, and to provide them with new ones, so that they can move forward in their academic, social-emotional, and professional/economic lives.
