Students are encouraged to check their emails inviting them to apply to be a member of our School Improvement Team. Currently, our SIT meets 5-6 times a year in the CHS library from 2:30-3:30. We work as a collective team to set annual goals and develop action steps towards meeting these goals. This is a great way to become involved in our school. If you are a parent and are interested in joining our SIT, please send an email directly to Principal Drake.

Looking Back
We hosted an Excuse Yourself Assembly for 9th and 10th graders in early March. Excuse Yourself is an educational training for middle and high school students on how to safely avoid getting into a car with an impaired driver. The presenter shared potential real-life scenarios with students. We are grateful to provide this training to our 9th and 10th graders and to equip them with skills on how to avoid getting into a car with someone who may be impaired.
In mid-March, the senior class attended a presentation that was brought to us by the Chris Collins Foundation and our Peer2Peer Program, which is a student-led program that promotes mental health awareness. Student athletes from the University of Rhode Island spoke to our seniors. They discussed their mental health experiences along with other mental health issues that have surrounded their journey including the stigma, seeking help, peer support, coping skills and the importance of mental health education and advocacy. We are grateful to have been able to provide this valuable presentation to our senior class.
