Students are:

• The program offers a consistent approach of concrete to pictorial to abstract pedagogy, repeatedly employed, in order to support the development of high levels of conceptual understanding and use of skills for all students. 

• Scaffolding is found throughout the program. 

• Students are given increasingly more intricate problems and draw upon prior knowledge in addition to recently acquired concepts/skills in order to solve these problems.

• The program develops concepts and skills in tandem.

• The program uses clear and engaging visuals to present concepts and model solutions.
