The celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day started in 1631 when the church established a Feast Day honoring St. Patrick. He had been Patron Saint of Ireland who passed away around the fifth century. People around the world celebrate this day on March 17th each year. It wasn’t until the early 18th century that many of today’s traditions were kicked into higher gear. This holiday also falls around the time lent starts in which it provides Christians a day off from the prescriptions of abstinence leading up to Easter. During the year of 1762, the first New York city parade took place in honor of the holiday. Several years later during 1798, the color green became very popular with Saint Patrick’s Day. The color that was normally associated with this day was blue, until the rebellion. From the late 18th century to the 20th century, as the divide between the Irish population and the British crown deepened, the color green and St. Patrick's shamrock became a symbol of identity and rebellion for the Irish.

Whether or not you admit it, everyone has played a game on their phone during class at least once. This article will help you decide what games to play to help pass the time the proper way.
5. Clash Royale- In this fun spin off of the popular game, Clash of Clans (which, yes, is on this list) your goal is to unlock different cards and use these cards in game to defeat more of your enemies towers then they defeat of yours.
4. Baseball Clash- This is a quick action baseball game that is fun to play against friends. The object of the game is to collect new players and see how good your team can become.
3. Survival.io- This survival-based game where you must survive waves of zombies or whatever else the game throws at you while you work to upgrade your character and beat all the levels.

Larissa's Parking Lot Experiences
A lot of random things happen here in the Chaffee High Parking Lot. Here are a few of my experiences in the parking lot and things I have seen. The first, and probably the weirdest thing my friends and I have seen was a dead duck behind Brooklyn Reichman's car after cheer practice. She was very startled by this. Next, is when Jake Swinford, Ryder Chapman, Seger Ruiz, Andrew Nix, Brooklyn Reischman, Gracelynn Stidham, Kylea Pennington, Ava Reif, Rayney Held, Sierra Brown, and I grilled in front of the front doors in the parking lot for Spirit Week. Jake made brats and hot dogs, and they turned out very good. Then, Zane Pobst showed up with Dr. Peppers for everyone. Unfortunately Ryder, Brooklyn, and I also found a bottle of urine in the parking lot one day after school. This made Brooklyn very unsettled, almost causing her to vomit. Something I witnessed that caught me off guard was a baby doll head on Eli Glueck's hitch on his truck. Another interesting time in the parking lot more recently was when SRO Lyerla educated a few high school students on things he had collected while being a cop. During homecoming week this year, as a prank, we TP'd Craig Hanlon's new hummer while it was unattended in the parking lot. To add to my personal experiences, I asked a few other Chaffee students about some of their encounters. According to Ryder Chapman, he stumbled upon a litter box in the sophomore parking lot at the beginning of this year. Also, Levi Crowe said the weirdest thing he has seen is when someone let the air out of Eli Glueck's tire. Junior, Madison Pobst, says she always sees the boy's trucks drop water out of the truck bed when it rains and they drive off. Many can say that the school parking lot holds lots of memories.

For the first time since the year 2000, the SEMO Redhawks won the OVC Championship and will be going to the NCAA March Madness tournament! The SEMO Redhawks basketball team plays in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Ohio Valley Conference has 10 teams playing against each other including SEMO, Lindenwood, SIUE, Tennessee Tech, TN State, UT Martin, Morehead State, Southern Indiana, Little Rock, and Eastern Illinois. SEMO’s record this year is 19-16 with their latest win to win the OVC Championship against Tennesee Tech. This was a very intense game, SEMO almost lost but was able to tie the game to go to overtime. By the end of the first half, SEMO dominated the score winning 38-29. Tennessee Tech was able to take the lead 73-72 with a 3 pointer scored by Brett Thompson with 12 seconds to go in the second half. SEMO rushed down the floor as fast as they could looking to score whatever they possibly could. Chris Harris for the SEMO Redhawks drew a foul and was able to make it to the free throw line, where he knocks down all three of his shots making the score 75-73 on SEMO’s end. With 2.2 seconds left of the game, Tennessee Tech threw the ball down court to #30 Diante Wood who tied it up with a 2 point buzzer beater to take the game into overtime. SEMO later won in overtime with the score being 89-82.
