Both middle & high school are loving our photography class. Thanks to Taylor Zinn, a local professional, our students are learning great skills that have career potential. We hope to share these with our SPARKS & Ignite families in the near future.
Our middle school students learned how to make candles in January. Miss Sami taught students how to make transferable stickers to adorn their candle holders, then provided opportunities for students to select colors, scents, and add-ins to customize their creations.
Hand sewing is a great skill to have in your life toolbox. In January Mrs. Tessner had Ignite students utilize the leftover scraps from our Christmas tie blankets to make pillows. Students not only learned different useful stitches, they also were taught a few quilting techniques.
Despite the crazy weather that went from snow storms early in the month to rain towards the end, students had a blast tubing at Snow Snake. This is a fan favorite field trip for SPARKS and Ignite that the kids start asking about right from the beginning of the year.
