Middle School Beginning Band
Experience Required: No music experience needed (or expected)
Instruction Time: Beginning Band is daily in middle school. Students receive full band instruction as part of the school day.
Unique Experiences:
Beginning Band Interviews - Students, parents and band directors work together to help students select a band instrument that will help them to be the most successful
Beginning Band Camp - Band students learn instrument assembly from instrument specialists, learn posture, tone production, and a few notes. Student then have their first concert performance in the afternoon
4 Evening School Concerts Per Year - 3 at Middle School, 1 at CFHS in combination with CFHS Bands and other district middle school
Solo and Ensemble Festival in April (Optional performance opportunity)
Participation in Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors’ Association Middle School Concert Band Festival
Accelerated pace to smoothly transition students into the 7th grade band the following year.

Middle School Band (6th Intermediate, 7th Grade, 8th Grade)
Instruction Time: 6th grade Intermediate Band (one year experience), 7th Grade Band (2-3 Years experience) and 8th Grade Band (3-4 Years Experience) meet daily in middle school as the students elective class. Students receive full band instruction as part of the school day in middle school band.
Unique Experiences:
4 Evening School Concerts Per Year - 3 at Middle School, 1 at CFHS in combination with CFHS Bands and other district middle school
Solo and Ensemble Festival in April (Optional performance opportunity)
Participation in Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors’ Association Middle School Concert Band Festival
Various other special performance opportunities throughout the year that vary at each school including: Evening of the Arts, Cultural Luncheons, performances at local Elementary Schools, performances at school assemblies and events varying on the year.
CFHS Combined Marching Event (7th and 8th grade band members) - Combined Performance with CFHS Marching Band, OGMS and ECMS 7th and 8th grade students of “The Star Spangled Banner” at special marching event and 8th grade band mini-marching experience, and CFHS Marching Show.
Southern Arizona Honor Band (Optional performance opportunity)
Arizona All-State Band (Optional performance opportunity)
