Elementary School - Beginning band is offered at all of the CFSD Elementary Schools beginning in the 5th grade. Students are introduced to all of the band instruments at the beginning of 5th grade, and are able to sign up to join the band program. Band is offered twice a week after school, with a small group lesson, and a full ensemble lesson. Students do not need any musical experience to join, and the district will provide instruments for students as needed. Information will be communicated to all CFSD 5th grade students in the fall. Middle School Band - Students who wish to join the middle school band need to choose band as their primary choice for electives. Middle school band has a beginning band program for students of any level that will get students up to speed with where they need to be to participate in 7th grade band. The middle schools also offer an intermediate band program that is tailored for students with prior band experience in their elementary schools. CFSD middle school bands are some of the best in the state, and regularly have students participating in honor bands across the state. Click here for more details
High School Band - Successful completion of 8th grade band in middle school secures a place in the prestigious CFHS Band Program, the most comprehensive band program in the State of Arizona. Students in CFSD in 8th grade will receive plenty of information during their 8th grade band classes. Students outside of CFSD should contact CFHS for registration information.
