Experience Required: No music experience needed (or expected)
Instruction Time: 60 minute classes, twice a week after school (one day with small instrument sectionals and one day as a full band)
Unique Experiences:
Beginning Band Interviews - Students, parents and band directors work together to help students select a band instrument that will help them to be the most successful.
Beginning Band Camp - Band students learn instrument assembly from instrument specialists, learn posture, tone production, and a few notes. Students then have their first concert performance in the afternoon.
District-Wide Band Concerts - One in December and one in May in the CFHS Auditorium
Elementary Honor Band Festival - A one-day festival in April for students who are demonstrating proficiency in their playing skills.
School Performances at each Elementary School throughout the school year
Solo and Ensemble Festival in April (optional performance opportunity)
Middle School Field Trip - Students will travel to their respective feeder school and experience what band is like as a middle schooler.
