Course Description
This class will help students make educated decisions on many aspects of their own health. Classroom learning will be done by a variety of methods in this activity-based curriculum; including lecture, peer teaching, videos, and guest speakers.

Team Sports
Course Length: Semester, alternate days.

Course Description
This course provides an opportunity for students to improve their health and fitness by developing an appreciation for teamwork and fair play, and gain competency in two or more sports. Sports practiced include basketball, volleyball, soccer, team handball, ultimate frisbee, flag football, eclipse ball, and more. This course also focuses on coaching, managing, refereeing, and organization of a sports season from pre-season, the season, and finishing with a tournament. Be prepared to learn about some of the preparation and work that takes place during a sports season.
Individual Sports

Course Description
This class is designed to help students participate in activities that they will be able to use throughout their lifetime. Activities include road/trail bike riding (both semesters), archery (both semesters), nitro ball, speedminton, tennis, badminton, pickleball, self-defense, and more. Students will become physically educated persons and understand that physical activity provides opportunities for enjoyment, challenge, self-expressions and social interactions.
Fitness
Course Length: Semester, alternate days.

Course Description
The Fitness class is designed to help students participate in fitness activities that develop cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. Yoga, Pilates, meditation, running, weight lifting, and kickboxing will make up the workouts. Class will most often rotate within the following schedule: Monday - Kickboxing or Meditation; Tuesday - Yoga or Pilates; Wednesday - Cardio Workouts; Thursday and Friday – Group Fitness. Student focus will be on physical activity that provides opportunities for enjoyment, challenge, self-expressions and social interactions.
Physical Education Online
Course Length: Semester

Grade Level: 10, Students who have a full schedule both semesters.
This class is ONLY for sophomores who have a full schedule. Online PE is a partially self-paced course that is run entirely through Schoology. Students must be self-motivated learners and check email and Schoology often to be successful in this class. Students will complete written assignments and an activity log each month.
Adaptive Physical Education Peer Mentors
Course Length: Semester, alternate days. 7th Hour ONLY.

Course Description
Must be pre-approved by the instructor and have seventh hour open. This course involves working with students with varying disabilities and challenges in their lives. You will work in partner situations, team situations, help set up and take down equipment, and perform some minor teaching roles.
Advanced Conditioning
Course Length: Semester, every day.

Prerequisite: Students must have completed Basic and/or Intermediate Strength Training to enroll in this course. Students must be out for a sport at some time during the school year to enroll in this course.

This course will meet on a daily basis and is designed for students with advanced weight training skills. Students will weight train 3-4 times per week focusing on complex lifts to improve strength and explosiveness. Students will participate in one day of yoga each week. This physical education course is designed to improve overall strength and athleticism for students participating in extra-curricular activities.
Intermediate Strength Training
Course Length: Semester, every day
Course Credit: 1
Prerequisite: Students must have completed the summer weight program at CFHS with 75% participation or instructor approval to enroll in this course. Students must be out for a high school sport at some time during the school year to enroll in this course.

This course will meet on a daily basis and is designed for students that want to develop strength training and agility skills. Students will weight train 3-4 times per week focusing on complex lifts to improve strength and explosiveness. Students will participate in one day of yoga each week. This physical education course is designed to improve overall strength and athleticism for students participating in extracurricular activities.
Basic Strength Training
Course Length: Semester, alternate days
Course Credit: .50
Prerequisite: Students must participate in the summer weight training program at CFHS with 75% attendance and/or instructor approval AND participate in a sport sometime throughout the school year.
Grade Level: 9
Course Description
This course will meet every other day and is designed for students interested in developing weight training skills and agility skills. Students will lift weights 2-3 times per week focusing on proper technique in the Olympic lifts to improve strength and explosiveness. This course is designed for students that want to improve overall strength, athleticism and are participating in extra-curricular activities. Students are able to enroll in this class during both semesters of the school year. This class will start at 8:30 a.m.on Mondays and 7 a.m. on Tuesdays-Fridays.
