A-Beautiful Pools, Inc. interviews, hires, and trains over 1500 high school and college students each Spring to work as Lifeguards, Assistant Managers, Managers and Supervisors during the summer months. We manage over 100 pools in the Greater Houston area and have found that personal face to face recruiting is most effective in helping us with our staffing need.
We train our employees in life saving skills, CPR, water rescue and first aid. One of the greatest benefits of working for us is that it won’t interfere with school and extra-curricular activities as we offer flexible schedules! Some of the pools we manage are open weekends in May and September, but most of the work will be done during the summer months.
In addition to the skills listed above, lifeguarding also teaches:
Time management
Communication skills with all age groups
Teamwork
Confidence building
Accountability
Pool maintenance skills
How to handle chemicals safely
Basic equipment maintenance
Opportunities for advancement
Many colleges have Natatoriums and need lifeguards so job could continue into the college career
Lifeguarding is a great first job that does not require any previous experience, we provide all training, and we hire starting at age 15! Lifeguarding is a highly responsible job; therefore, it adds to college applications and also shows the candidate can balance schoolwork with other activities.
We have been in business for over 38 years and have an excellent reputation in the community.
Sweetwater Pools is looking for employees for next summer. Each year we aim to hire over 1,000 teenagers and young adults to train and work as lifeguards at community pools throughout the Greater Houston area. Sweetwater certifies all of our employees in house and offers less expensive options for certifications than other companies as well as discounts for classes held earlier in the year. We take pride in providing our younger generation with opportunities to begin their experience in the working environment and help them grow so they may be prepared for life after school and start to build their resumes. Being a summer position, lifeguarding is a perfect job for students who are looking to make some money of their own and “get their feet wet” in a working environment, as this is usually their first job. As a lifeguard you will learn lifesaving skills including CPR, First Aid, AED, Blood Borne Pathogens and Lifeguarding, as well as customer service, effective communication, and attention to detail. Our employment offers opportunities for promotions within our company and we encourage professional growth in all of our employees. Employees can be promoted during the season and we offer higher positions and long term employment to those who are available to continue working after the season ends. We offer our lifeguards an extremely flexible scheduling system that allows them to create their own schedule so they only work when they are available. We also have competitive pay rates as well as incentives and appreciation days throughout the summer to ensure this summer job is a rewarding one for our employees. You only need to be 15 years old to get certified and make a difference in the community!
