Seeing Double!! 👀 👀 We are TOO!! Two Options for Dress Up Days Next Week - Let the FUN Begin.
Dear Gator Families,
We are excited to share that construction will soon begin on our new big playground equipment, which is part of the 2023 bond work planned for our campus. In order to avoid potential supply chain issues, the schedule for this project has been accelerated. We look forward to the new opportunities this playground will provide for our students.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 9, 2026. The project will continue through Spring Break and is expected to be completed during Spring Break or shortly after during the following week. The latest anticipated completion date is March 25, 2026. During construction, there will be additional equipment and materials present near the back of the building, and temporary fencing will be installed around the entire playground area. This may create temporary obstacles in our back driveline area.
We want to assure families that several measures are in place to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow:
Construction traffic will not be allowed in the loop around the building during student drop-off or pick-up times.
Construction traffic will be limited to the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Materials and equipment will not block vehicle traffic or fire lanes at any time.
These expectations have been communicated in coordination with campus administration and campus safety personnel.
We are also working closely with transportation to ensure that our back driveline continues to run as smoothly and safely as possible for our buses, vans, and family vehicles.
We appreciate your patience and support as we complete this important improvement to our campus. If any additional adjustments become necessary, we will communicate those updates with families promptly.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ortiz
Principal
Good Elementary
The LEAP PREVIEW NIGHT on March 3rd is for 4th and 5th Grade ONLY!!

The SBOE invites communities across Texas to recognize students who show heart and purpose
Austin, TX – February 10, 2026 – The State Board of Education (SBOE) is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Student Heroes Award, which honors exceptional Texas public school students who demonstrate outstanding volunteer service and acts of kindness.
Each year, one student from each of the 15 SBOE districts is honored for making a real difference in their schools and communities, such as helping local charities, starting their own organizations, leading community projects or assisting those in need.
To qualify, a student’s service must be voluntary and not tied to curriculum requirements, school service projects or pre-existing community programs. Any student from prekindergarten through high school can be nominated by teachers, school staff, parents, classmates or community members.
To nominate a student or learn more about the eligibility and selection process, visit the SBOE Student Heroes Award webpage. Nominations are open until April 24, 2026.
Honorees will be recognized at the June 2026 State Board of Education meeting in Austin, Texas. Each Student Hero will receive a plaque and a medal from their SBOE district member.
