📣 This Week at Good (April 20–24) 🌟
This week is a special one at Good as we celebrate National Volunteer Appreciation Week 💙 and PTA Appreciation Week 🎉! We are excited to show thanks for our PTA Board and all of our dedicated volunteers who give so much to support our students and staff 🙌
To show our appreciation, we will host a special luncheon on Friday 🍽️ featuring performances by our talented Orff students, Folklórico students, and Orff Ensemble Gators 🎶💃. Our House Leaders will also present our House Chants 🏡📣 to add to the celebration! In addition, our 4th grade team is working on a heartfelt thank-you message 💌 to recognize the impact of our volunteers. Throughout the week, we will also be sharing gratitude messages on our school’s social media platforms 📱—be sure to keep an eye out for these special clips 👀✨
🍽️🚫No Family Lunches FRIDAY: Due to our Volunteer and PTA Appreciation Luncheon, there will be no family lunches on campus today 🍽️🚫
⭐As we continue through STAAR testing season, we appreciate your support at home 🏡
Monday Night: Please review STAAR Test Tips with your child 📚, ensure they get a good night’s sleep 💤, and help them feel confident and prepared 💪
Tuesday: Our 5th grade students will take the Science STAAR Test 🧪—encourage them with a positive mindset 😊 and a healthy breakfast 🍎
5th Grade Dress: Students may dress comfortably for testing 👟 (this is a free dress day for 5th grade only). Please remember—no pajamas 🚫, no blankets 🚫, athletic wear is fine 👍, and a light jacket is encouraged 🧥
Lunch: Students testing may bring a packed lunch 🥪 or choose a hot lunch from the cafeteria 🍽️
🤝We are also excited to support our community by collecting donations for the CFB Giving House 🤝 from Wednesday through Friday. Our PTA is turning this into a friendly competition between grade levels 🏆. Please see the flyer below and the attached flyer for details.
⭐Our 3rd–5th grade students will continue preparing for the upcoming STAAR Math assessment ➕ this week. We are so proud of their hard work and focus, especially as they earned #1 in the STAAR Madness Math – Progress Learning Competition 🥇! Thank you for your continued support—let’s make it a great week at Good! 💚🐊
Dear Gator Families,
As we continue working to best support our students and families in meeting uniform expectations, we are making a small adjustment to our dress guidelines. Moving forward, our approach will more closely align with Perry Middle School—the campus that many of our students will attend after their time at Good.
Our weekly dress expectations for tops will remain the same:
Monday & Tuesday: Uniform tops
Wednesday: “Shirt That Brings You Joy” or a college shirt
Thursday: Free Dress for $1
Friday: House Shirt and jeans or uniform bottoms. Jeans are a suggestion - students can wear school appropriate athletic pants, joggers, shorts, skirts, or a uniform dress with their house shirt on these days as well.
Students are always welcome to wear uniform tops any day of the week.
The change applies to bottoms. Students may now wear bottoms that meet the CFB ISD Dress Code every day of the week. This means - for example - students may choose to wear school appropriate uniform shorts, athletic shorts, skirts, jeans or traditional uniform bottoms throughout the week, as long as they are paired with the required tops on designated days. Uniform dress are still a great choice as well.
Please note that all bottoms must follow the CFB ISD Dress Code. For example:
Pajama bottoms are not permitted
Yoga pants, leggings, and jeggings may only be worn if the shirt extends to mid-thigh
For full details, please review the CFB ISD Dress Code here:
CFB ISD DRESS CODE POLICY LINK
We are working to update this information across all of our websites, so we appreciate your patience as we make these updates.
We appreciate your continued partnership and support as we work to create consistency and clarity for our students.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ortiz

Good Elementary
