🚦 Traffic & Safety Information/Reminders for Arrival and Dismissal

🚔 We have confirmed guidance with local law enforcement regarding traffic procedures on city streets surrounding campus.
📍 All traffic laws must be followed at all times when driving on city streets near the school.
⬅️ Left-turn lanes are designated for left turns only:
- ❌ Making a right turn from a left-turn lane is illegal at any time. Here is a video explaining how to use left turn lanes.
- ❌ Do not pass other cars in the left-turn lane or drive in the left turn lane - it is for immediate left turns only. Enter and turn.
- ❌ Do not enter the left-turn lane and turn right into the school driveline.
- ❌ Do not enter the left-turn lane and exit it in a rightward fashion, including to bypass the line of traffic.
- ❌ Do not use the left-turn lane to pass traffic and then turn right into our parking lot.
- ❌ Do not turn from the far right lane (going North on Denton RD) to cross over/in front of the left turn lane to enter the driveline.
- ❌ Do not make a U-Turn around the left turn lane (going North on Denton) to then head south (on Denton RD).
- ✅ Stay in the right lane to turn into the parking lot, or only use the left-turn lane to make a proper left turn into the driveline.
🦺 Several weeks ago, Safety and Security guided us to add cones along the crosswalk and back driveline to improve safety.
🚶‍♀️🚗 These cones help protect students and families who:
- Walk across the drivelines
- Exit vehicles on the passenger side (for a variety of acceptable circumstances)
🚨The added cones support safer traffic flow and provide an extra layer of precaution for vehicles passing on the left.
1️⃣➡️1️⃣ We encourage families to follow the “1-to-1 rule”: one car enters the driveline at a time from one side, then the next car goes from the other side, repeating in turn. This helps maintain safe traffic flow and reduces congestion.
🤝 We must work as a team during these busy times—please remain calm, patient, and courteous to ensure everyone’s safety.

These are our suggested "BEST" routes, but other routes can be taken.

2nd - 5th Grade Driveline Info (front driveline):

Three cones - right lane accessible - drive through - stay to the right - drop students off out of your passenger side. Move left around cars (only as needed to exit) - drive slow 😀

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE LEFT LANES - LEFT LANES ARE FOR THROUGH TRAFFIC ONLY. Thank you!!

Three cones - all lanes blocked off - please turn left into our parking area - park in second row - walk students inside - sign students in - in the front office - students will be marked tardy

Please do not park in our first parking row - if possible - these cones are placed at the end - no through traffic - our second parking row is open to park and exit - driveline is one way.

Please pull all the way past this fire hydrant (like this truck) during arrival and dismissal to allow the most amount of cars into our driveline at one time. Thank you!! 😀

Kinder - First Grade Driveline Info (back driveline):

Back driveline - Please do not park in the right lane in this area - DO NOT Block the indention area at anytime - please pull past this area - Our LEAP Buses will be picking up and dropping off students in this area.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE LEFT LANE - LEFT LANE IS FOR THROUGH TRAFFIC ONLY. Thank you!!

Please keep going are Kinder and First Grade drop off is around the corner.

This is where Kinder and First Grade Students will be dropped off. Please pull to the right and let students out of the passenger side of you vehicle. Please do not park in the right lane indention area during dismissal or black this area - Vans will be parking here to pick up students.

During dismissal please pull up to this cone, but not past this cone. A couple of our buses will need to park just past this cone to pick up students in the afternoon.

Walk Up Pick Up

Please park in the second row of our parking lot and use our crosswalks at all times. Please see picture for the walkup pick up area for 2nd - 5th grade. Our walkup pick up area for our Kinder - First Grade students is right outside our small playground gate on the south side of the playground.
