Victoria DiTomasso

I'm a 2nd year PhD student at the CfA, and I'm from Brooklyn, NY. I fell in love with science during high school, when I started interning in the education department at the American Museum of Natural History. Before coming to the CfA, I studied failed stars (brown dwarfs) and the smallest, coolest stars in our galaxy (M dwarfs). Now, I'm searching data about the movement of stars (radial velocities) for evidence that they have exoplanets orbiting around them.

About Victoria's Cosmic Creations

I first started doing astronomy research at the American Museum of Natural History during college. My advisor there, Emily Rice, was one of the founders of STARtorialist, an astro-fashion-blog-turned-business. Constantly inspired by her fashion, my collection of space-themed clothing, accessories and nail art techniques grew. A lot of astro-fashion features images of galaxies and nebulae, but I particularly love pieces that showcase stars and planets, which I study. Astrofashion is pretty popular nowadays, so a quick google should bring up plenty of options, and you can often find cool pieces at Target and H&M.
