The excretory system is made up of all the organs that remove waste substances from the body.
Liquid Waste
When the blood passes through the kidneys, they filter the extra water and waste substances, forming a liquid called urine. Urine goes to the bladder where it's stored. Urine is expelled through the urethra.
Solid Waste
Undigested food and food waste pass through the small intestine. In the large intestine, most of the water is absorbed. The solid waste that remains forms solid lumps called faeces. They pass into the rectum. The faeces are expelled through the anus.
