Digestive processes
In the digestion process, the mouth, esophagus and stomach help our body digest the food we eat.
In the apsorption process the small intestine absorbs the nutrients from the food and these nutrients go into our blood.
In the elimination process the undigested solids are transformed into faeces in the large intestine and rectum.
Organs involved in the digestive system
The main organs that make up the digestive system (in order of their function) are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum. Helping them along the way are the pancreas and liver.
