The nervous system is made up of the brain, the spinal cord and a large network of nerves. Sensory nerves carry menssages to the brain and motor nerves carry messages to the muscles.
Nerve cells are called neurons. They transmit electrochemical messages from one to another. The space between neurons are called sinapsis.
The Brain: it receives and sends information to tell the body how to react.
The Spinal Cord: it is a long thick tube that connects the brain to the rest nerves.
Sensory nerves: send information from the environment to the brain.
Motor nerves: send messages from the brain to the muscles and glands.
