I recently made a book cover for my art class, and it’s something I’m very proud of! The title is called “Trapped, Life in Quarantine”, with three droplets that contain different images. The droplets can be a symbol for tears because many people have been sad and struggling over these past two months. There have been an increasing amount of limitations that everyone has faced, whether it’s not being able to see friends, or only being able to go so far away from your house outside. Therefore the droplets can also represent bubbles that limit the objects inside from exiting. It’s been a challenge and I feel like this piece really encapsulates that feeling of being limited to only being able to do a few things. One of my favorite parts of the picture is how individual and simple each image is. All I used was water color and micron pens! It gives you time to think about what each one really means in regard to feeling trapped during this time. Despite this feeling, I really hope all of you can find certain things to do over this limited time that make you feel free!
