The MPGT Academy builds and teaches leadership skills through a variety of curriculum and program components. The MPGT Academy uses Virtual Job Shadow to explore career pathways, colleges & campuses, as well as college & career life skills. Ceres High School also offers an MPGT Academy club, in which students can join and participate in a hierarchical leadership structure. Additionally, students build a digital portfolio over the course of their time in the MPGT Academy, presenting pieces of authentic learning and projects created during a Mock Interview process with local business partners. The MPGT Academy values leadership within its program through the three components aforementioned, as well as additional supplementary program components.
The MPGT Academy provides extra-curricular opportunities to students, building on the foundational leadership skills developed in the program. Each year the Academy participates in VEX Robotics competitions (Technology Students Association event) and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District's (SMUD) Solar Regatta, imploring students to apply knowledge and skills learned in the program in a competitive environment that requires teamwork.
The MPGT Academy Club is an Associated Student Body (ASB) club where students can assume leadership roles and help shape the MPGT Academy. The club provides input on MPGT Academy Events, helps lead Academy events, and participates in exclusive field trips.
