Our Story
The MPGT Academy was established in 2009 with two main goals:
1. Provide students with the knowledge and expertice to enter college or a vocational school after graduating high school.
2. Provide students with career readiness skills, training, and certificates to gain employment after graduating high school.
Focusing on Local Businesses
Over the last decade, the MPGT Academy has grown exponentially. In order to provide students with a variety of employment opportunities, the MPGT Academy has built a group of business partners who mentor and collaborate with MPGT Academy students and staff. In addition, by strengthening our relationship with local business partners, the MPGT Academy prides itself as being a program that connects students and staff to the community.
MPGT Academy Awards and Recognitions
As a result of expanding the program to include mentoring and collaboration with local business partners, the MPGT Academy became a Distinguished Academy in 2016, which means the MPGT Academy was ranked as one of the top California Partnership Academies in the state of California.
In 2017, the MPGT Academy was recognized as a California Lighthouse Academy. As a Lighthouse Academy, the MPGT Academy became a model program for new California Partnership Academies. Over the last few years, MPGT Academy staff and students have presented information about our program and building business partnerships to different school from all over the state.
After five years of building a mentoring program in which MPGT Academy students collaborate directly with local businesses in conjunction with certification training, internships, and employment opportunities, the MPGT Academy was awarded the National Career Pathways Network Award in 2018.
