GOAL:
To develop a culture of coaching in relation to the performance development of staff
To ensure that Principals have consistent and clear processes to support the performance management of staff
To support Principals to build highly professional cultures within school communities
A highly effective culture of performance and development of staff is inclusive of:
1. Reflection and goal setting
2. Professional practice and learning
3. Feedback and review
Effective performance management is intentional, consistent and systematically aligned with the purpose and goals. A range of good practices must also be present, but strategic planning, risk management, safety, data use, best practice pedagogy, up to date curriculum, assessment and evaluation all rely on the work of the people. Effective performance management will encompass and support this through clarity of role and purpose, coaching, feedback, appraisal and professional learning.
