Leadership in a Catholic school co creates a vision for a community in which all may have life in abundance (John 10:10) and where student flourishing is the core purpose. Leaders in Catholic schools are guided by religious, professional and ethical principles and pursue this vision in service of the community. The vision is student centred and has a growth mindset that is guided by the belief in the dignity and potential of the human person.
The Leadership Framework identifies the core work of leaders in a Catholic school through seven professional practices. Each professional practice is supported by leadership capabilities and indicators. The Framework is integrative in its approach to leadership formation, with a dual focus on building leadership capacity through both a vertical and horizontal developmental lens. Leadership formation and development is supported by building a mindset of adaptability and flexibility in its approach, through the capacity to engage in strategic thinking and practice.
