Google for Education includes a suite of tools that can be used for a variety of purposes.
Share Link Options
When sharing a Google Tool (Doc, Sheet, Slide, Drawing, Jamboard), adjusting the URL (share link) can give you different options for how others will access the item.
Forced Copy - recipients must make a copy of the file before they are able to open/access it. In order to have their own copy they must click "Make a Copy" in the blue button.
Template Preview - recipients must make a copy of the file in order to use it. They will see a preview of the item. In order to have their own copy they must click "Use Template" in top right corner.
Preview - This only works for Google Slides and Drawings - Send a Google Slides presentation where recipients see it in presentation view. They cannot see any editing options. This is great for slideshows where they need to click links throughout the slideshow to navigate through the information.
