“Joker”
8” x 10”
Photoshop
Lots of playing cards I found online.
I began work on the shape of the cards, then the symbols, then the jokers.
I had to erase tiny bits of grey to allow the color to fill the shape.
Drawing the jokers was a risk because I didn’t trace my original drawing.
I like the similarities to playing cards.
I would make the whole thing a larger card.

“Snake”
3.5” x 3.5” x 5.25”
Clay, glaze
Snakes and coil pottery were inspirations.
I started off by making coils going up, then made a base at the bottom and finally the head.
The coils would have a hard time staying together so I rubbed all over with slip.
A creative risk was making the head because it was difficult to slip the parts.
I like the shape of the snake.
I would choose a darker green if I started over because it would match a snake better.

“Stop”
5"x5"
metal, paint
My inspiration was stop signs.
I traced the outline then pushed from the other side.
I couldn't find something smaller.
I made the border of the sign thick.
I like the way the paint stayed all wild.
I would add more design to the outside.
