Emma Brown “Beauty with Light in the Darkest Night”
12in X 18in, Acrylic on paper, 2018
I got my idea from my love for Cherry Blossoms and how beautiful the full moon and the stars look all together. This painting makes me feel reassured that even if you are in the darkness, a light can be born and make you feel happy again. If I had to change anything in my painting, it be putting something new in the background or maybe had a hand reaching out to the cherry blossoms. The thing that I love about my painting, is that how much detail I had put into the petals and the bark in the tree.
Emma Brown “The Pain of Being Beautiful”
18in X 24in, Acrylic on paper, 2019
I got the idea for my painting from not only my love for roses, but there is also a little bit of a story behind this painting. The story behind this painting is basically when you go through a very traumatic experience that left you feeling empty, not being able to feel anything, when you noticed the roses that you loved so much you wanted it, but as you grabbed and dragged it out you didn’t notice or feel the thorns piercing your hand. Once you noticed the blood on your hand and wrist you than realized, you can’t feel the pain of anything anymore, not even the pain of something as beautiful as a rose. Even though this painting isn’t done yet I look forward to how I manage to finish it in the end.
