Wow this background actually looks cool

My goal for this piece was to represent myself using visual metaphor. I started by finding or taking pictures and changing their colors to red and purple. After that, I tried to find ways to include those images while keeping the whole more or less balanced. Finally, I adjusted the brightness, contrast, and saturation.
I chose to use the colors red and purple because it gives a sense of unity throughout the piece, and I chose those colors specifically because they’re analogous, which allowed me to accent certain parts more than others easily. The images I chose on each side are a piano and a circuit board, reflecting my interest in both creative and scientific endeavors.
I think I like the use of color most. If I could redo this from the beginning, I would use more effects on the background, to make the images more consistent with each other.

For this project I was tasked with making a flyer for a film festival. The brainstorming process consisted mostly of figuring out what I had at my disposal. After I figured out what images, brushes, and fonts were available, I worked on mapping out how they should fit together. Most of the pieces in the image are related to a movie theater, like a marquee and film projector. In fact, the name of the font I used is called “Marquee”.
I’m most proud of how the Marquee came out, and if I could start over I would have probably done the screen area differently, making it more clear what it represents.

For this piece, the objective was to create a pice with the intention to someone's opinion about a certain topic. For the brainstorming process, I listed things I could make my project about, expanded upon some of those topics, and the chose which one seemed to work best. The focal point of the piece is an oil refinery tower, which breaks up the clear blue background. I chose these elements because the flame of the image shows a king of urgency and danger. I also chose red, bolded letters for the same reason.
The part of this piece I'm most proud of is the flare stack, and how I managed to transport it from one image into this one. If I could start over, I would be a bit more careful with the extraction of the flare stack from the original image.
