Contemporary Dance
Purpose
We believe that performing arts can be a great confidence booster and are very proud of the options we provide students for them to get involved in.
Secondary students have had the opportunity to take lessons in the highly entertaining style of Contemporary dance, as well as to become involved in a number of co-curricular activities which allows them to learn new skills, experiment with choreography, work as part of a team and experience the excitement of performance.
Our main aims are:
To provide students of all ages and abilities with a range of dance opportunities
To encourage students to experiment, try something new and enjoy expressing themselves through movement
Pupils have a number of opportunities for performance:
BVI Cultural and Heritage Dance
Season Greetings Show
Inter-house Dance
“Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance. Dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passon” Martha Graham.
