1936 German Olympic Games

On this page you will learn about what Hitler did because of the 1936 Summer Olympics.

During the 1936 Summer Olympic Games which were held in Berlin, Germany, Hitler relaxed a little on all the antisemitic stuff. He took down signs saying "Jews Unwelcome" from public places and lessened their Anti- Jewish attacks. He did this to avoid judgement from visiting countries who came to attend the Games. He also did this because he didn't want the Games to be moved to another country. However, German Jewish athletes could not participate in the Games. After the games the Nazis treated Jews very poorly once again.
