CDNIS uses a phased-in model for Grade 4-5 MacBooks to address concerns about bag weight and safety.
Initially stored in classroom cabinets, students gradually bring them to specialist classes before taking them home.
Grade 4 students bring MacBooks home during long holidays, while Grade 5 students use them as needed for home learning.
Homeroom teachers notify parents when MacBooks are ready to be sent home.
This arrangement is subject to review, with updates shared as needed.
Grade 4-5 students must have a plastic cover to protect their MacBooks and a headset with a recording function for school use.
Families using a pre-owned Macbook should ensure it meets specifications, enroll it in the school system, and provide labeled accessories.
For more information, click on Pre-Owned MacBooks.
CDNIS software cannot be extended to departing students.
Students must follow the Leavers Procedures to back up and reset their devices before leaving.
Failure to comply may result in withholding of transcripts and remote device deregistration.
