My idea was to make an owl for my mom, she loves owls and it was very easy to much because it was a mold. It turned out better than I thought but as you can tell it's kind of bubbly. I also thought about how at our old house in the country we used to have an owl every time sitting in one of our trees and would howl for like an hour. So that's where I got my inspiration at. 

The first thing I had to do was mix clay and make it until a thick smooth slip so I could pour it down the mold. After pouring it down the mold and filled to the brim you have to dump out the rest of the slip so the sides are the only thing with clay. After all that you have to wait for it to dry which only took a day or so. The last thing I did was sand down all the sharp ends and I kept it white to give it a more antique feeling. 

The artwork means nothing really, just thought it might be a good idea and my mom would love to put it somewhere in the house. I want people to think it's a decoration for your house, just putting it on a shelf in your house. The most difficult thing had to be mixing the clay to make it smooth, My arms were getting very tired mixing and at the start, it was very thick and hard to turn. I would glaze it if I did the whole thing over again. But nothing really upset me with how it turned out. 

This is ceramics and it was Surreal. I love how it is just white no color, just keeping it simple.
