Taylor Veach “sunrise, sunset, sundown”
12x18”, Acrylic on paper, 2018
I took 2 different ideas and put them together to get this painting. I really wanted a sunset and I wanted to blend everything out and i also wanted something in the water so I found two swans to paint that I thought would be a good size and not to vibrant. If I could start over I think I would change the way the stars I think they turned out not as good as I thought they would. I love the way the reflection on the water turned out on the water I think it looks very realistic.
Taylor Veach “Cacti”
12x18”, Acrylic on paper, 2018
I was looking up “things to paint” online and I saw a painting of a cactus. Well I thought it was a good starting painting project. I like this painting because it is simple and the cactus and how they are all different shapes and colors. If I could start over for the shadowing I wouldn't have used colors that were so dark on light greens. But I love the pink in the background I think it is a perfect color to bring out the greens.
Taylor Veach “Old days”
12x18”, Acrylic on paper, 2018
I got my idea because on pintrest I saw a picture of mountains and I then decided I wanted to paint that. Then I saw another picture of the grass and the tree so I added that on top so I mixed two ideas together. The artwork to me just reminds me of the olden days I don’t know why just something about it reminds me. If I could change anything it would be to make the grass more detailed. I love the way the purple flower came out and how the tree turned out as well as the lake.
Taylor Veach “Sea Turtles”
12x18” Acrylic and Watercolor, 2018
I got my idea because Ben Alger was talking about saving the sea turtles from straws just about everyday. So I was looking at cool ideas of sea turtles and I saw one that looked similar to this one but I changed it up. This artwork does not mean much to me like I don’t have a connection to this paining. If I could change anything in this this painting it would be to make it look more realistic. I really love how colorful this painting is and how the colors blend together.
Taylor Veach “Colorful Giraffe”
12x18” Acrylic and Watercolor, 2018
I got my idea just by looking at pictures of animals and then a giraffe is my favorite animal well zoo animal. So I looked up sketches of giraffes and I found one that I liked and I drew it. Then I decided I wanted to add color so I decided to put water color in the giraffe. This artwork to me means quite a bit because giraffes are my favorite animal. If I could change anything it would be the little hairs on the top of the ears, they don’t look good I don’t think. I really love how the water color blended together to look almost tie-dye.
Taylor Veach “Sun & Moon”
9x11” Acrylic on Coloring sheet
This is a artwork without planning. I got this idea because I was just normally coloring a coloring page and then thought I could do the same thing but paint it. This artwork does not have a specific meaning to me except I really like the color yellow so I made sure to put a lot of yellow in it. If I could change anything I would change how slopy it got in the corners because they were really thin. I love the colors and how well they work together.
Taylor Veach “ Northern lights”
Recycled Project, Acrylic on Canvas
For one of the standards in art you had to take a canvas that has already been used and create something better out of what was already there. Well the one I picked out was only black so it gave me a lot of options. So I decided to paint the northern lights. If I could change anything I would try to make everything look more realistic. But what I love about it is the “lights” in the sky. It was hard to try to make them look faded in a way.
