When I was thinking on what to paint for animals, my cat Lola came into my brain right away. I took a picture of her sleeping once because it was so funny. She had her arms up and her mouth was open. So I choose that picture of her. Then I painted clouds as if she is catching them when she's sleeping. My process was kind of simple. First I did the gradient around the shape of the cat. Then I started painting Lola and then did all of the details of her. Then lastly I painted the clouds. The most difficult part was doing all of the small details. If I could start over and change something, I would change the one black wisker I did. I don't think it looks right and it just looks very out of place.

My idea for this was inspired from my Grandma. When I was a kid, my family would drive to Ohio to see my grandparents. At night, fireflies would fly around. So my siblings and I would try and catch them. One time we would catch them and put the fireflies in a jar. We took the jar back inside to see them glow. They weren't glowing anymore so my Grandma shook the jar to make them glow. But they all died and fell to the bottom. Now we joke about fireflies to my Grandma now. I first painted the background. Then painted the tree. After that I painted the leaf the firefly is sitting on. I then changed the color of it. I then started painting the firefly itself. Then I painted all of the lights around it. The most difficult part is mixing the right color to make the color I wanted. If I could change something I would change the background.

My idea for this was, I just wanted to create mini elements as people. Then how I explained it better was that they were like those M&M's characters but with elements. I first decided what elements I wanted to do. I choose plant, earth, fire, and water. Then I made the background a darker version of the sterytpyical color for the element. Green for plant, brown for earth, red for fire, and blue for water. Then I made an outline in white of the character. Then I made the colors of the element. After than I did the details of it, like the faces. This was a very easy painting to do. The part that took the longest was waiting for the paint to dry. If I could start over, I would add wind. I like how unique this is because it came straight from my head. I didn't use any references.
