Mackenzie Piatt"Eiffel Tower"

12x12" Watercolor on Paper,  2022

My idea was to have a beautiful sunset with the Eiffel tower showing in the front. I had always wanted to travel to Paris, France to see the Eiffel tower. My inspiration was a day dream I had as a kid, that daydream was a form of my escape from reality. I sketched out my work and used transfer paper to put it on my canvas. Then I started my process of painting. The tools I used were pencil, transfer paper, watercolor, paper towels, and paint bushes. My artwork means that I really want to go to France and possibly live there someday. I would like to have them think about just how beautiful big objects can be. I would love to think of it as love imagery and that there is always love surrounding you. The most difficulty I had was painting the Eiffel tower without messing it up. I would change the tree trunk's size and the upper triangle on the Eiffel tower. I think that this would be abstract. I added birds to my art piece, when I paint any outside landscapes I always put birds in the background. I love the sky colors for the sunset.

Mackenzie Piatt "Earthly Time"

 16” x “20”, acrylic, 2022

The idea was to have a symbol of absence and mindfulness. I was looking through other ideas and came across a flying man so I took that and made my peace different and unique. My inspiration was from the movie hook with all the colors and glossiness that is put into the movie. I had to sketch it out first, then I painted my canvas all black. I had to trace my sketch on the canvas. After I did that I then grabbed the colors of the rainbow and tried to blend them. I ended up not liking it that way so I had to wait for it to dry, then I started to use my fingers and liked how that looked. I also cleaned up the ends and painted the colors that weren't supposed to be there. The tools I used were a pencil, paint, canvas, and a paintbrush.  I want it to mean peace and relaxation. I want them to look at it and to think that anything is possible if they look at it to think to themselves that they are enough. There is in this work, and Earth's true colors. The most difficult part was getting the painting the way I liked it. I wanted to be happy with it and I got it on the second try. I don't think I would change anything if I had to. I'm happy with it. I would say that this is surreal. The only thing that makes it my own is its colors of it. I love the colors of the man in the sky and the splattered background.

Mackenzie Piatt  "Isolation of pink beauty"

12x12, Acrylic, 2022

My idea was to have something that was beautifully surrounded by nothing but ugly. I got this idea by hearing the saying “it doesn't matter what's on the outside, what matters is what is on the inside”. I had to paint the back and added the mountains and shadows. I also then started to draw my tree on the canvas I proceeded to mix my colors on the tree. And painted on my pedals and then I was done with this artwork. what I used to paint and paintbrushes and slabbed it all on there. I think that this artwork means beauty and that no matter your looks, is to look beyond your cover. I would like them to think that no matter your beauty on the outside, always look to what is on the inside. There is mostly beauty/ or beautifulness to everything. The most difficult thing for me to do it redo my sketch on the canvas.  I work through the struggle and think to myself how I can do better and what I can do better.  I don't think I would change anything at all I am truly in love with this piece. I would think this to be is surreal. I always make my artwork look like a cover of a book or books. Overall I love what I’ve done and absolutely would not change anything at all about it.
