Midnight Fishing
3x6, Stoneware & Glaze, 2025
My idea was to make a bowl that looks cool mixed with some wiggles in there. I got the idea from thinking about what to do for my project. I used a foam ring and let the clay fall through the hole of the foam ring which made it into a bowl shape. I believe the technique was called slump drape. It doesn't really have any meaning to me. I just made it because it was a project that was quick. I want my audience to think about looking at someone fishing at midnight. There was a fish pattern I put in the inside of the bowl but it kind of wore off in the kiln. It still had some on the outside of the bowl. What was difficult for me was trying to get the fish pattern to stay on while the bowl was forming into shape. I would change the pattern I chose if I could restart the bowl. This is expressive artwork. It doesn't really have uniqueness to my own personal style. I like the color of the glaze.
Copper Pitcher
3x10, Stoneware & Glaze, 2025
My idea was to make a pitcher that looked like it was aged for so many years and also have a unique color as well. I got the idea from my mind because I like the older aged looking pitchers. I used a slip and score technique on it. It makes the clay stick together more strong. and then I had it in the kiln to dry. Afterwards, I glazed it in the glaze color Ancient Copper. It came out as good as I planned it to be. The artwork has no meaning really. I want my audience to see the pitcher and think about how it looks like an aged pitcher. It was hard to get the spout shaped right and the back to be rounded so it looks more of a pitcher shape. This is an expressive piece of work. It has a touch of aged objects that I like. I like the color of the glaze.
International Magnet
1x1, Stoneware & Glaze, 2025
My idea was to make a magnet about something that I like as a brand so I chose International. I got the idea because thats the first thing that popped into my head so i chose to make that. I used clay as the material for the project. I just put the clay together with slip and score. It's the logo for Case IH. I want them to think about the International tractors when they look at this artwork. I would change the magnet itself because I feel like it would've been better as something else.
Size Unknown, Cardboard, 2025
My goal was to make a non-ceramic project into something I enjoy and like. I got the idea from my old truck I used to own a while back. I used cardboard as the material for this project. I used hot glue and made an outline of the parts I needed to make it good. Its based off my old 1990 Ford F250. I want my audience to see how good old vehicles are. If i could change anything it would be the way the body came out and how the bed could be longer.
I made a stop motion of Eric Cartman but as Eric Ransford so I don't get copyrighted. I got the idea from poker face. I used paper as the material to make it. I took pictures on my phone and used capcut to make it a video. It is based off poker face sang by Eric Cartman. I want my audience to see this and enjoy the music on it. If I could change anything it would be the mouth movements. I would make them look more real to follow the words.
