Sunset Sky
, Acrylic, 2025
My Idea is to paint a sunset from the point of view of my truck mirror. I got the idea from a picture that I had and I wanted to challenge myself with the blending colors. It evolved with the blending of the sunset that really kicked up the painting looks. The process of painting this took me a week to paint. I used some blending techniques. I used different varieties of paint brushes. This piece has some sentimental value to me because it was taken at a time of me spending time with someone I deeply care about. I want people to look at this and think of looking at a sunset from someones mirror and seeing something worth of beauty. The most difficult part was blending the sky colors in the mirror since it was such a small space to work in. I just went with the flow and if I messed up or went outside of the mirror then I would just repaint the color I painted over. I would change the shape of the truck and make it look more of a realism painting. I would say it is somewhat realistic because it was based off of a real life photo and it looks kind of like the real thing. I feel it matches my personal style because I like vehicles and it also was a time I was spending around someone I like hanging out with. I love how the sunset came out.
Spirit of the Forrest
9x12, Acrylic, 2025
My idea was to paint a buck in its natural habitat. I got the idea because I like buck antlers and buck skulls. This painting evolved because of the buck toward the front of the painting. I really tried emphasizing on the buck. I used some blending, shading, and feathering techniques. I didn't really have a meaning toward this painting. I have always just wanted to paint a buck. I want people to look at this piece and see how nice it is to see a buck in the woods or forrest. One thing that was difficult in this piece was the shading because i didn't really know how to get the shading just right. I watered down some black paint and i used that to make the shade effect on the way the bucks head shades the neck. I am very happy about how this turned out but if i could change one thing then it would have to be the outlining of the deer. I would most likely make the outline smaller rather than wide. I made this piece to be a realistic art piece. I like the way the buck is more emphasized rather than just some background filler.
Night Mountain Sky
2x3, Acrylic, 2025
This is my baseline painting. My idea was to paint something simple. I got the idea from just thinking about simple drawings and went from there. My process was simply just painting mountains and grass along with a starry night sky. I want my audoence to think about how stars come out more in a space with no streetligths or any ighting compared to a city, or small town. This is a non-objective painting. I like the wat the moon came out to be. It looks like it has the craters on it and the foggy ring around it as well.
Daylight Savings
6x6, Acrylic, 2026
My idea was to make a better version of my painting called "Night Mountain Sky". I got the idea from looking at the original painting and seeing how can i improve it. I used a pencil to freehand the mountains and the sky and grass. The artwork is basically meant to be scenery. I want my audience to see how different mountains can look in different lighting. What was difficult for me was figuring out how to do the grass to look somewhat real. This is an expressive piece of art. I like scenery so it looks good with how I like scenery.
