10" - 7" Acrylic painting canvas, 2025
This painting is mostly inspired by a picture I found online. I thought the picture was really cool, so I decided to paint it. The painting was very difficult at first. The picture had so many branches, and there was no way I was going to be able to paint them. With the help of Mrs. Garrity, I added texturing to the bear and tree. I also added many layers to the branches to make them pop more. And lastly, I used a paint marker to touch up the face of the bear

This sketch was pretty simple. It was inspired by a photo on the internet. The sketch is meant to be a cake. The sketch turned out well, as it looks 3d. The candle was a nice addition because it makes it look like a birthday cake. The frosting being puffy adds to the depth of the sketch. The sketch took about 30 - 45 minutes. I should have added color to it.

I found a photo of a spray can online, and I wanted to recreate it. I added a face to the spray can. The spray can was a little difficult because the shaping took a while to get right. This sketch took about 40 minutes. The cap and the bottom of the can were a nice addition. The additions add depth to the sketch, which makes it look more 3D. I added bulk to the lines, which definitely adds to the sketch. The smile took a little while to get just right, but it all came together nicely.

I found a dog on the internet and decided I would draw it. The dog was pretty easy to draw. The mouth and snout were a little difficult to get right. The snout and mouth look realistic because I took a lot of time on them. I spent roughly 45 minutes on this sketch. The hardest part about this sketch was the fur, as it took many lines and blending to do. The shaping of the dog was also hard, and it took many tries to get the ears right. The eyes were pretty simple, but they add so much to the sketch.

This painting is my baseline. It is not super good, as I kind of rushed through it. It did take a whole hour, though. I just kind of winged it with the paint, and I managed to create a basic house scene. It kind of looks like a kid's drawing, but it's fine because it's my first painting. The hardest part about this painting was how difficult my brush was. The brush was way too big, and it made the outlines huge. Next time, I need to work on better outlines for the painting.

This sketch was free-drawn. I did not use any pictures to help me. This sketch took a little while because I had to get the proportions just right. I added the muscles on the shoulders and legs that are usually visible. The fur on the bear is not super well done, but it is definitely decent. This sketch took about 50 minutes of the class. The feet are a little off, and they are not lined up with the ground, which is something I need to work on. This sketch probably needs some color, but I didn't really have the time.
