My source of inspiration for this work is Lavender town a YouTuber who makes regular things into girls. Also, I got the random objects placed around it from a mixed media artist dealing with 2D and 3D. I copied the sketch off of my paper and drew the outline of my person, I then sharped the lines to make them permanent. After that, I colored her in with oil pastels. The next thing I did was used a black chalk pastel for the background. I then cut pieces of yarn and attached them where her hair was supposed to be and trimmed the extra. I searched through some bins to find a few random pieces of yarn and objects and glued them on. The last step I did was to cover a cardboard lightning bolt with metal and an extra one to lift it up and hot glue those on to. I showed problem-solving by once I was finished with the chalk pastel I thought it looked bland. So I decided upon an idea that she is in a storm and their objects flying around her. So I found some objects I liked and glued them on. I took a creative risk by putting objects around her not knowing if it would work well. I am glad I did because it made it even better and more interesting to look at. I like all the objects flying around her and sequins on her socks. I also like how I just left the eyes white because it makes her look powerful which is what I was going for. I would change her body shape because it doesn’t look right and I don’t know why. I also would change the yarn for her hair to a more white color, but overall I wouldn’t change anything else.
