This is my baseline painting. I searched for ideas on Google and chose to paint a wildflower. I painted it quickly so I could move on the my paintings, so it turned out a bit messy.
I first grabbed my materials to start this painting. I needed paper to paint on, paint, paint brushes, and a water cup. If I could start this painting over again, I would take my time and put more effort into it.
This is a painting of my boyfriend's truck. I thought I would surprise him with a painting of something he loves. I looked through his camera roll and picked this picture.
Before I started painting, I grabbed all the materials I would need. Including paint, a canvas, paintbrushes, and transfer paper. The first step was to paint the canvas a solid color. I painted the sky a light blue by mixing blue with white. Then, I created the color for the gravel road by mixing dark brown with yellow and white. Once the base colors were done, I added details to the gravel and the sky. After that, I traced the outline of the truck using transfer paper. When the tracing was complete, I painted the truck a solid black. I used light gray for the metal parts and added white as highlights to make them look realistic and shiny. To create the reflection in the front of the truck, I mixed brown, yellow, and white to match the gravel and blended it into the truck. Once I finished painting the truck, I began working on the background.
Something I found difficult when making this was the shading on the tree. Another thing I found difficult was adding the detail on the truck. The original picture of the truck is dark, and mixing colors to make the same color as the picture was very dificult. I over came these struggles by asking the teacher for help or fixing the stuggle without any help. If i had to do this over agin i would start with the background like the trees, and the backgorund first before i started the truck.
The style of this art was realistic. I wanted the audience to think it is realistic and not a painting. i would love to inspire others to work hard and to overcome there struggles. This painting took me about 2-3 weeks to work on.
I looked around my camera roll for painting Ideas and saw a picture of me shooting. I thought this would be a great image to paint for realism. Before I started painting, I grabbed my materials. The materials I needed were canvas, paint, a water cup, paint brushes, and a paint tray.
The first step was to grab a canvas to paint on. After that, I grabbed transfer paper and printed out my photo. After I did that, I traced out the photo onto the canvas. Then I mixed all my paints that I needed to make the background. The last step was to start adding details to make it look more realistic.
One of the most challenging parts when creating this painting was getting the shading right on the trees and the hoodie. The hoodie was very difficult because the reference photo showed a lot of different shades of gray and folds, which made it tricky to paint. I overcame these struggles by asking the teacher for help or trying to figure out my struggles on my own. If I had to do this over again, I would add more detail and layers to the trees instead of just padding down detail on it. I would have used a different brush size and texture to add more detail.
This painting took me 3-4 weeks to paint. I want to inspire others to try and create a painting they don't think they will be able to.
